Howdy, my name is Michael Lee Zollner, Jr., and you can call me Mike. I hail from west by Gosh, Virginia. That's right, west by Gosh, Virginia. "LETS GO MOUNTAINEERS!" However, I have been living in Northern Virginia for some SIXTEEN years now and I consider this to be my home. |

|
Although I have been serving Northern Virginia SIXTEEN years, I have recently established All Star Driving School. (StateID # 1503-000453) Many of my former students from the area's best full service driving school encouraged me to start my own driving school. So on May 8, 2000, I made the decision to do just that. I have taught teenagers from just about every school that one can think of in the tri-state area, both private and public, both all girls' and all boys' schools, rich and poor and everything in between. I attribute my success to the fact that I just go out and do my job every day to the best of my ability and I treat everyone the same. Just because your father is a Senator or Judge does not mean that you'll get preferential treatment. There are no second class students at All Star Driving School. As far as I'm concerned, you all come to me for one reason: to learn how to be a safe driver and to obtain the privilege to drive. Like any teacher, I pledge to be fair, firm, and friendly with an occasional light joke to break the ice if I have to, if that's okay with you. I AM NOT PERFECT! All I ask of you is that you let me do my job and for you to be the very best student that you can be. I ask that you as students pledge to take this training seriously and to help me establish a generation of mature operators. It would make me proud to see a generation of drivers that I trained not get in any accidents or get any tickets. That is my goal and the goal that I ask each of my graduates to set for themselves upon graduation.
I am a veteran of the United States Army. I served in the European theater in Berlin, Germany, as well as Ft. Bragg in Fayetteville, NC, to include Special Forces Training at the JFK Special Warfare Center/5TH Group. I was an Honor Graduate from Ft. Knox, Kentucky and served as a Patient Affairs Representative in the Medical Service Corps. My former commander is Lieutenant General Ronald Blanck, former U.S. Army Surgeon General, now a College Professor at North Plano College . I attended junior college at Allegany Community College in Cumberland, MD and Arizona State University in Tempe, Arizona. I received three Academic Scholarships and worked my way through college at United Parcel Service. I also officiated football to help foot the bill. I have three beautiful children and all three of them graduated from major colleges and are now professionals in there field, so proud of that.
I have worked for many Fortune 500 companies in the past 20 years, mainly in the transportation industry. I think that you will like All Star Driving School and that you will like the way I instruct you to drive. I am not high pressure and I make the very most that one can out of the 5.8 hours that you will be driving to include residential/business, open road, country road, city/town, interstate/ Fairfax County Parkway, and perpendicular parking. Parallel parking and beltway driving are not required by the State of Virginia. Beltway lessons may be given at the rate of $60 per hour, three months after having your temporary license, with a minimum of two hours. I have found that this is a very appropriate lesson plan for the average teenager. It is highly recommended, but not required, that you have been practicing driving for a minimum of six months and have driven long distance with your parents. If you have only been driving for less than six months and have no long distance experience, it may be difficult to achieve excellence in 5.8 hours, but not entirely impossible. This is only a suggestion based on empirical evidence. I like to think that I can train anybody to drive if they are willing to learn. However, you cannot learn to drive in a parking lot and if you cannot keep the car in the center of the lane in the road, then you are not ready to start this training. So, without further comment, I look forward to training you, and remember, our motto at All Star Driving School is, "Keep your eyes on the road and your hands upon the wheel." Thank you for your support and drive safely. Hope to see you soon ladies and gentleman. Go for it!
All The Best, Michael L. Zollner, Jr. - President and Owner, All Star Driving School |
